Pastor Yoeum Bun is a 69‑year‑old father of four children, who has faithfully served as the pastor of Stung Thmey Church, in Stung Thmey village, Promauy commune, Veal Veng district in Pursat province for many years.

Pastor Yoeum began sharing Good News with the people in his community where he lives since the early year 2005, there was so difficult roads were rough, communication was limited, and even telephones were not yet available. As time went on, small house fellowships began to form across the village. Many of these groups included migrant families living in remote areas, struggling with poverty and isolation, and they have been constantly migrating. In the early years, these fellowships had little connection with one another. Small home churches were grown scattered in the remote villages of Veal Veng district. They did not know each other well, nor cooperated or supported one another.

In 2023, things began to change when World Relief Cambodia (WRC) moving forward to establish Church Network committee in Veal Veng. WRC brought the different churches congregations together through regular meetings, helping them build relationships, share plans, and dream of working side by side. And Yoeun's church joined these gatherings, and eventually, the Veal Veng District Church Leaders Committee (CLC) was established, and he was one member of CLC.

This committee became a turning point. Local churches started collaborating, planning activities, and meeting every three months to organize evangelism efforts. Through this cooperation, the churches grew stronger—spiritually, in faith, and in numbers. Trust developed between the groups, and when problems arose, they were able to support one another. Beyond fellowship, the local churches also received various training and encouragement from the Church Empowerment of WRC. Leaders learned how to organize Christian ceremonies, strengthen their spiritual foundations, spiritual formation and Church Network Guide that led them to work together for God’s Kingdom in their communities. These opportunities deepened their knowledge of God, strengthened their relationship with Him, confidence increased and built good relationship within the local churches, and the number of believers multiplied.

Pastor Yoeum Bun confidently shared, “Since the Veal Veng Church Network Committee was established, my church, churches and home churches have begun working together, supporting one another, and making a united effort to share the Gospel in the villages where our churches are located. As a result, all our congregations have grown into a strong network—building relationships, serving our communities in unity, evangelizing, and continuing to grow in faith together as one body in Christ.”
